Historic highs for lumber prices are once again rising. Continuing to closely monitor the ever-changing global markets, BELFOR CEO Sheldon Yellen recently shared his perspective on what factors are causing this sharp increase with ABC7 WXYZ Detroit.
Sheldon notes that natural disasters, such as wildfires, hurricanes and tornadoes, have increased the demand for BELFOR’s leading property restoration services which includes board-ups, property restoration, full reconstruction and more. He also indicates that as the worldwide leader in residential and commercial restoration services, BELFOR has recently seen the need for materials increase by roughly 22%
Sheldon suggests that an additional factor to the accompanying supply chain issues are related to the COVID-19 pandemic. As a result, many companies including manufacturing facilities and plants who are producing these essential building materials, are temporarily shutting down operations.
Dedicated to providing clients the best and most efficient restoration services possible, BELFOR is adapting and strategically placing larger material orders in advance to prevent a lack of supplies and further delays caused by shipping issues.
