Health Science Center Power Plant

The former University of Colorado Health Sciences Center campus is located on approximately 26 acres in Denver, CO. The site has been mostly abandoned since the move to the Anschutz Medical Campus in Aurora, CO, in 2007.

After two attempts to sell the property, renewed plans to redevelop the area have included the need for abatement of the buildings. The Health center Power Plant utilized two large boilers that reach up to 15 feet. The boilers and associated piping need to be certified asbestos free, prior to dismantling and demolition.

To make way for the new development project, LPL Denver Colorado Development Group has contracted BELFOR Environmental to remove all asbestos-containing building materials from the power plant and laundry.
