Denver Stapleton Redevelopment
In 1929, Denver celebrated the opening of its first municipal airport which eventually became known as Stapleton International Airport. For more than 66 years, the airport shuttled passengers in and out of the greater Denver area and served as a hub for several large carriers.
By the 1980’s, plans were underway to replace Stapleton with a new airport now known as Denver International Airport.
