Important Information Following a Cyberattack at BELFOR Asia
Dear Sir or Madam,
BELFOR Asia and all its subsidiaries in Asia have been the target of a cyberattack carried out by criminal actors.
Immediately after detecting the incident, BELFOR implemented extensive security measures to protect employees, customers, and suppliers. As part of these measures, all IT systems were shut down and all network connections were disconnected. As a result, BELFOR Asia’s network is currently inaccessible to employees and partners for security reasons. Regular communication by email is therefore currently not possible, while our telephone systems remain available.
Our internal crisis management team began work immediately, and external experts were engaged without delay. A communication process with the relevant authorities was also initiated immediately.
Based on current findings, we can confirm that data has been stolen. However, the exact volume of the data and the categories of data affected are not yet fully known and remain under investigation. As a precautionary measure, the competent data protection supervisory authority has already been informed, and we are in close coordination with our data protection officer.
Important information for your protection
As the full extent of the data theft is still under investigation, we are providing the following precautionary security guidance. To protect yourself against identity theft or fraudulent activity, we kindly ask you to pay particular attention to the following until further notice:
- Neither we nor any other legitimate company will ever contact you to ask for passwords or any other confidential information.
- The attack affected a large part of our IT systems in Asia. If data has been exfiltrated and evaluated, the attackers may attempt to use this information to carry out highly convincing fraud attempts. We therefore ask you, particularly in the coming weeks, to take special care:
– Carefully check the plausibility of email correspondence, including the sender, subject line, and content.
– Exercise caution if anything appears suspicious, and do not open attachments or click on links. - At present, we have no indication that payment transactions have been affected by the cyberattack. Nevertheless, as a precaution, we kindly ask you to review your account activity for any suspicious transactions.
At present, we have no information indicating an increased risk arising from systems that were not shut down and continue to be used, including software and end devices. Our security measures are working as planned. Cooperation with us remains as secure as possible, provided the above security guidance is observed.
The protection of your data has always been, and continues to be, of great importance to us. If you have any doubts or concerns, please reach out to our BELFOR Asia representative at [email protected].
We will proactively provide our next update no later than Wednesday, April 22, 2026.
We sincerely apologize for the impact and inconvenience caused by this criminal attack and kindly ask for your patience and understanding in the coming days.
Yours faithfully,
Neville Miles,
CEO BELFOR Asia
