BELFOR Philadelphia Restores Family Home
BELFOR Philadelphia proved that they could restore more than property when a local family suffered a devastating fire last year. Their once-beautiful house was unlivable, all their belongings were charred, and many things were totally lost. While BELFOR worked to rebuild the house for the family of four, they managed to save a surprise for them. When they moved back into their restored home, BELFOR presented them with a special box. As the couple unwrapped the contents, they were amazed to see prized mementos from their wedding.
To see how BELFOR helped the family pick up the pieces and move from disaster to recovery to home again, watch the video.
BELFOR Supports Chesco Training
BELFOR Philadelphia was proud to be represented at the recent ribbon-cutting ceremony for the new Chester County Public Safety Training Campus. BELFOR Philadelphia will donate labor and materials as well as oversee the construction of a learning area dedicated to emergency responder training. The finished room will be ready for students this fall.
Prior to the ceremony, a steel beam from the World Trade Center was dedicated in the lobby of the education center. This beam was one of many that were originally forged locally in Coatesville, PA in 1969 and used in the construction of the WTC. The "steel tree" made the long, solemn trip home in a mile-long procession in 2010.

BELFOR Wins RIA Phoenix Award
BELFOR has been awarded the prestigious Restoration Industry Association (RIA) Phoenix Award for Innovation in Reconstruction. BELFOR Philadelphia General Manager Daryl Tunno and Senior Project Manager Guy Buttaro accepted the award at the 67th Annual Leadership Summit & Industry Expo, March 27-9, 2012.
The Philadelphia office restored the five-story, 100,000 square foot UGI Corporation Headquarters, following an electrical fire that extensively damaged the facility. BELFOR mobilized local and nation team members to clean, preserve contents, and perform selective demolition in preparation for the rebuilding process. UGI saw the opportunity to update and remodel their headquarters, and as an energy company they wanted their new building to be sustainable and green-compliant. BELFOR worked with UGI to remodel the building, which included expanding the first floor, while protecting the interior space. BELFOR also worked with UGI’s LEED architect to document conservation practices such as using recycled products and Forest Certified Stewardship (FSC) wood.
