Building Resilience in a New Era of Risks: BELFOR at PARIMA Singapore 2026

BELFOR Singapore was proud to be a Silver Sponsor of the PARIMA Singapore Conference 2026, held on October 15 at PARKROYAL COLLECTION Marina Bay.

Under the theme “The New Risk Order,” the conference brought together risk managers, insurers, brokers, and loss adjusters from across Asia-Pacific to discuss how organizations can prepare for, and recover from, an increasingly complex risk landscape.

Beyond traditional insurance

Neville Miles, Managing Director Asia at BELFOR Asia, joined the panel “Beyond Traditional Insurance: Building Parametric Solutions for Uninsured Risks.”, where he was joined by Raymond Martin Aguilar (Globe Telecom and PARIMA Board Member), Ben Qin (Descartes Underwriting), and Max Hastings (Swiss Re Corporate Solutions).

Drawing on real-world disaster case studies, the panel explored how organizations can build parametric solutions for hard-to-insure assets such as undersea cables and cable landing stations. Topics included designing triggers across markets, working with multiple providers, and what risk managers should consider when looking at parametric cover.

Conversations over coffee

Our coffee cart kept the BELFOR booth busy throughout the day. Many delegates stopped by for a freshly brewed coffee and stayed to talk about property damage recovery, business continuity, and the challenges their organizations face today.

We were delighted to meet people from such a wide range of industries, from energy, manufacturing, and healthcare to education and the public sector, and to catch up with many of our partners in the insurance community.

What we heard
The survey answers echoed many of the conversations we had at the booth:

  • Natural catastrophes and supply chain disruption were the top concerns.
  • Most organizations feel only partly prepared, with response plans in place but in need of strengthening.
  • Business continuity and pre-loss planning were the most valued forms of support.

The biggest gains in resilience come from what organizations do before a loss. A tested emergency response plan, backed by trusted recovery partners, can turn what might have been a prolonged shutdown into a short interruption.

How BELFOR can help
From pre-loss planning through our RED ALERT® Priority Response Program to fire and water damage restoration and the decontamination of sensitive equipment, BELFOR helps organizations minimize downtime and get back to business quickly after a loss.

For practical advice, download our free booklet, The Nine Most Expensive Pitfalls. It draws on more than 50 years of restoration experience to highlight the mistakes that can derail recovery before, during, and after a loss, and how to avoid them.

Thank you
Thank you to PARIMA for organizing such an insightful event, to our fellow panelists, and to everyone who visited our booth. We look forward to continuing the conversation.
