BELFOR was engaged to manage a complex, multi-phase decontamination project within a high-specification pharmaceutical facility.
The goal was to restore this facility and ensure that every square inch met the rigorous safety and cleanliness standards required for such a sensitive industry. This multi-phase decontamination project was carried out across multiple floors and the intricate network of pipes of this facility.
Scaling the Heights for Total Surface Cleansing
The first major restoration task involved the thorough decontamination of room surfaces across multiple levels of this facility.
Every surface, including ceilings, walls and floors, was meticulously decontaminated using BELFOR’s proprietary cleaning agents, before performing a thorough rinse to remove all chemical residue.
This methodical approach guaranteed that the primary surfaces of the multiple levels were completely sanitised and ready for inspection.
Tackling the Dust Collection Systems
This restoration extended to the facility’s complex mechanical infrastructure, where our expert team dismantled and decontaminated the network of dust collector pipes. To prevent the spread of dust or residues during transport, the ends of the pipes were blanked with plastic wraps and securely sealed.
Once the pipes were secured, they were decontaminated using decontamination agents to remove all pharmaceutical residue from the interior surfaces. This step was critical to ensuring that the mechanical components would not introduce contaminants back into the environment once the facility resumed operations.
Restoring Air Flow and Structural Integrity
The restoration also focused on the Air Handling Unit (AHU) return ducting. High-powered vacuums were used to remove loose debris, followed by applying the decontamination agents throughout the internal surfaces. This holistic approach ensured that the air quality within the facility would meet strict safety guidelines.
Scientific Validation of Every Surface
After the physical cleaning was complete, our expert team performed a series of pH testing to ensure no chemical residues remained from the decontamination agents and wipe sampling to confirm that all pharmaceutical contaminants had been successfully removed.
