How is BELFOR UK innovating property restoration?

In the evolving field of property restoration and reinstatement, innovation is the key to staying ahead. At BELFOR UK, we recognise that when disaster strikes, it’s not just buildings that need repairing – it’s lives that need rebuilding. That’s why we invest in cutting-edge technology and forward-thinking solutions, ensuring our restoration processes are efficient, high-quality, and seamless. This means we can help people return to normality as quickly and smoothly as possible.
In-house specialist drying innovations
While we continue to procure specialist equipment from our trusted supply partners, we’ve also taken significant steps in developing and integrating our own purpose-built, specialist drying equipment. This approach allows us to customise devices to meet specific operational needs, maintain quality control for exacting standards and regulatory compliance, and drive efficiency. By investing in our own technology, we reduce costs while reinvesting in further innovation. This ensures we stay ahead of the curve in an industry that never stands still.
Since 2020, our German Technical Team in Neufahrn has been spearheading this project, resulting in the successful deployment of thousands of essential machines. Currently we have over 7,000 condenser dryers, 1,200 adsorption dryers, and 4,000 fans in use daily across water-damaged properties in Europe.
Among our most innovative solutions are the BELFOR CD20 Condenser Dryer and the AD10 Adsorption Dryer, both of which have proven instrumental in streamlining the drying process. The BELFOR CD20 is a compact powerhouse that processes 300m³ of air per hour, operates in temperatures from 5°C to 30°C, and can pump water up to 5 meters high. It features a built-in kilowatt consumption clock and a Hygrostat for precise humidity control – perfect for sensitive environments or historic buildings.
Meanwhile, the AD10 Adsorption Dryer is ideal for tenting walls or floors, significantly reducing drying time without being obtrusive. It focuses energy on defined areas, making the drying process more efficient and minimising disruption to daily activities.
Redefining restoration
Our commitment to innovation doesn’t stop there. At our 3D printing farm in Neufahrn, we design and print attachments to enhance the versatility of our machines even further, whilst we’ve also introduced a large number of DRYSmart remote monitoring systems into the field. These artificial intelligence (AI) equipped systems oversee the drying process remotely, optimising energy consumption, and notifying when drying is complete. They then transition the equipment into maintenance mode, reducing energy usage while continuing to monitor property conditions until decommissioning. With remote access capabilities, they boost productivity and reduce our carbon footprint too.
For specialised equipment, we continue to partner with leading global manufacturers to leverage cutting-edge technology and expertise. This balanced approach keeps BELFOR UK at the forefront of the industry, enabling us to continue delivering exceptional, market-leading restoration services to our customers. By investing in the future and continually refining our processes, we’re not just restoring properties – we’re redefining restoration itself.
