Document Restoration

Documentation is still widely used in business and for some it is absolutely central to their operations. Although as a material, paper is surprisingly robust, water in particular can cause devastating damage and do so at a very rapid rate.  Swelling, adhesion, distortion and discolouration can make items unusable if not processed correctly. Moist or wet paper also provides an ideal environment for the growth of potentially harmful bacteria and mould.

If you act quickly however BELFOR has a solution.  Using ‘Thermal Freeze Drying’ technology our experts can restore items back to a pre-loss condition.

Smoke and fire damaged books and documents are restorable too.  Our state of the art cleaning processes include ionised air washing, deodorisation and de-acidification to remove contaminants and restore the chemical balance of the material.

We also have the ability to set up mobile restoration facilities and refrigerated storage on site if necessary.  In most instances however your documents will be safely packed, itemised and transported to our Centre of Excellence for Document Recovery in Abingdon, Oxfordshire. Here they can be stored in our secure refrigerated unit in preparation for the restoration process.

Our experts have been rescuing irreplaceable documents and files as well as unique books and manuscripts in this way for many years. Put your important, valuable and treasured documents in the hands of the experts.
