In April 2025, a fire broke out at the FANUC Korea Gyeongin Technical Center, causing extensive damage across the facility, including the factory, showroom, and training center.
As a multi-purpose industrial facility combining production equipment, training areas, and workspaces, the site required a carefully coordinated restoration approach tailored to different types of equipment and spaces. Preventing secondary damage was also a critical priority.
BELFOR Korea responded immediately after the incident and completed the restoration of precision machining equipment, demonstration robots, and the entire seven-story building, from two basement levels to the fifth floor above ground. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Precision Equipment Restoration<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

To prevent further damage to robots and precision machining equipment, BELFOR Korea first implemented corrosion prevention and humidity control using specialized chemicals and protective materials.
The equipment was then carefully disassembled and cleaned. Components that could not be properly restored on site were transported to BELFOR Korea\u2019s workshop, where precision restoration work was carried out in a controlled environment. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Building and Facility Restoration<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Restoration work began following a structural safety assessment.
Because the facility combined production equipment with shared areas such as training facilities and accommodation, particular attention was given to restoring interiors, fixtures, and furnishings without leaving residual contamination.
Mechanical, electrical, fire protection, and communication works were carried out in parallel to shorten the overall restoration period. After construction was completed, the systems were fully commissioned to verify performance, followed by final removal of any remaining contaminants. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

BELFOR Korea maintained close communication with the customer throughout the entire restoration project.
At the customer\u2019s request, daily and weekly reports were provided to keep stakeholders informed of progress. BELFOR Korea also established a temporary on-site office, allowing the team to respond quickly to unexpected issues throughout the project.
The systematic project management and successful restoration resulted in a high level of customer satisfaction. Following completion of the project, BELFOR Korea received a plaque of appreciation from FANUC Korea\u2019s management. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
