BELFOR Shortlisted for Global Risk Award

BELFOR UK is delighted to be shortlisted for the ‘Excellence in the Face of Adversity’ award at next years ‘Global Risk Awards’ hosted by the Institute of Risk Management. The award ceremony will be held in London on February 28th 2013.

Learning by Experience Workshops 2013

Following the success of 2012’s Learning by Experience Workshops BELFOR UK are delighted to announce the workshop dates for 2013. This workshop steers away from the traditional classroom setting and will allow you to get really involved with practical restoration and recovery techniques. In addition to the theory of damage management much of the course will be dedicated to practical application of these techniques and involves sessions on the decontamination of machinery, electronics equipment, property restoration and document restoration. This workshop is open to Insurers, Broker, Loss Adjusters and Claims Professionals. Do you want to get some real practical experience while gaining valuable knowledge?

Ready to respond!

Our teams are working hard around the country to deal with the recent flooding. BELFOR have seen a 400% increase in claims volumes over the last week, within key areas such as the South West, North Wales, and the Midlands. We are fully equipped to deal with the increased claims volumes and have specialist teams on the ground in individual regions as well as teams on standby to provide additional support, resource and equipment if required.

BELFOR's New RED ALERT Account Manager

Richard Waterhouse has joined BELFOR as the new National RED ALERT Account Manager. Richard has extensive Senior Management experience within the property sector and brings a wealth of knowledge to the role. Originally training as a Process Reengineering Consultant this led him onto several operational and business development roles including most recently the National Account Manager for a multi trade property business.

Richard will be responsible for all existing UK RED ALERT accounts as well as a key focus on developing new relationships and expanding our client base. Richard will be working closely with Lisa Swindale in the Sales department who will continue to oversee the office account management and administration. Richard commented “I am keen to see BELFOR fulfil its potential as a business and I see RED ALERT as a key product to spearhead this growth." We are delighted to welcome Richard to the team!

Edition 10 of 'Solutions' magazine now available

The 10th edition of BELFOR Solutions is based on the above motif whose title "nomen est omen" says it all.

Do you like solving problems as much as we do? Then read about:
• How did Archimedes, Einstein and Co. change the world?
• How do superheroes face the challenges of their – i.e. our – time?
• What makes an insurance company an expert in customer satisfaction?
• How can BELFOR react more effectively to the requirements of underwriters and insurance companies, and come up with new ways of thinking about the restoration business?

The answers can be found in the current edition of "Solutions." Along with theoretical models, we also provide information about several practical solutions and how they are applied on a daily basis in the world of a global restoration company. However, a magazine such as this can only showcase a small fraction of the work that BELFOR does. In order to become even more solution-oriented, we are listening to experts from risk management and the insurance industry so that they can present their concepts for the challenges of the future.

Speaking of the future: with this 10th edition, Solutions is saying goodbye to its readers in this format. Instead of an annual international magazine, we will be using more target group-specific media formats in future. This will enable us to provide you with more direct and frequent updates about important services and news regarding BELFOR.

BELFOR UK announces new Managing Director

We are pleased to announce the appointment of Alasdair Phillips as new Managing Director for BELFOR in the UK. Alasdair comes with a great reputation and a high level of experience having formerly been both UK Managing Director and Northern Europe & Australia Area President for what was Munters (now Polygon). He joins us from the AA where he has been heading the ‘Home Emergency’ services.

Mark Taylor is leaving to start a new Executive role at EnServe Group and both Alasdair and Mark will be working together to ensure a smooth transition so that BELFOR can maintain its high level of service to both clients and insured.

Conor Roche, COO of BELFOR Europe commented: “We have seen real progress in BELFOR UK under Mark’s leadership and we appreciate all he has done. I would like to thank Mark for his contribution and the strong impact he has had on our business. We are sorry that he leaves us and wish him all the best in his new role. Nonetheless, we are delighted with the appointment we have made with Alasdair Philips. We welcome Alasdair to BELFOR and I will be working closely with him to further develop our innovation and services in the UK.”

BELFOR wins 'Innovation' Award!

BELFOR were successfully shortlisted for three award categories at the BDMA's 2011 Damage Management Awards' in Dec. On the night BELFOR were delighted to receive the award for 'Innovation of the year' which was collected by Managing Director, Mark Taylor, who commented: "We are delighted to be announced as the winner of the 'Innovation of the year' award. The win underlines BELFOR's technical expertise and capability within the Damage Management Industry"

 

In a demanding market customer satisfaction is at the forefront, therefore the criteria for this entry required entrants to demonstrate success in improving business delivery, BELFOR's award entry outlined the processes and technical application of SRF (Soot Removal Film). The winning entry outlined a variety of different applications where SRF has successfully been utilised, from historic settings, contemporary domestic (HNW), to large industrial. This has increased its versatility as a product and ensured some very successful restorations.
