BELFOR Connecticut Receives Two Awards and Accepts Donation To Kots for Kids pointer

BELFOR Connecticut has received two prestigious awards - 2014 IREM Friend Of The Year from the Institute of Real Estate Management Connecticut Chapter No. 51 and CTAA Vendor Member Company Of The Year award from the Connecticut Apartment Association.

General Manager Mike Cody accepted the CTAA award (pictured left) at the annual Nutmeg Dinner and accepted a $5,000 donation for Kots for Kids, a BELFOR Cares Charity. Kots for Kids is an initiative started by BELFOR CEO Sheldon Yellen and his wife Iris to provide beds and bedding to children of families in need.

Cody also accepted the IREM award from IREM President Jason Falcetta (pictured below) at the annual holiday gathering. The Connecticut office was recognized for outstanding support and dedication to the Chapter and its members.

BELFOR Connecticut scored the number one spot on the Contactor Connection’s Northeast District Monthly Contractor Report for the month of May. The Connecticut office bested the pack in a highly competitive region that encompasses the states of Connecticut, Maine, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New York, Rhode Island and Vermont. BELFOR Connecticut is an integral part of the Northeast BELFOR team, working in tandem with offices in Boston,New Hampshire, New York, New Jersey and Pennsylvania on large and CAT losses.

BELFOR Saves Bergen County History pointer

In the aftermath of Hurricane Sandy when hundreds of customers required emergency assistance, BELFOR Connecticut joined the East Coast offices to provide essential disaster recovery services. The Bergen County Historical Society in Northern New jersey had just two days left to salvage their valuable artifacts. Connecticut General Manager Mike Cody, and Estimator Nile Scala joined forces with Union New Jersey General Manager Tom Cristello and Fort Worth Technical Services General Manager Kirk Lively to provide immediate assistance.

After the recovery was complete, The Society wrote to Scala, “We will always be grateful that you cared enough about our history and that you got BELFOR to come to our rescue.”
